What was Semax evaluated for at the July 2026 meeting?

The FDA-evaluated uses listed for Semax are cerebral ischemia, migraine, and trigeminal neuralgia.1

Semax is approved in Russia - doesn't that count?

No. Approval by another country's regulator does not confer FDA approval or U.S. legal status. The FDA evaluates the evidence independently.2

Is Semax legal in the United States in 2026?

Semax is not FDA-approved and has no cleared compounding pathway in the U.S. It was in Category 2 of the interim 503A list, then removed in April 2026 and referred to the July 2026 advisory committee. Its approval in Russia does not make it approved here.1 3 4
